29.1.12 - Congratulations to the U12s in the semi finals of the Bournemouth Cup. After winning 4-3 after extra time to Bransgore, they are through to the Bournemouth Cup final against Branksome United, which takes place at KGV Playing Fields, Ferndown, on Sunday 25 March 2012. Time to be confirmed. The team would be grateful for your support.
29.1.12 - Well done to the U11s who fought hard but unfortunately were beaten 1 - 0 by Bournemouth Electric today in the semi finals of the Bournemouth Cup. Well done boys for getting this far. You are all a fantastic team and a credit to your club.
28.1.12 - The current officers of the club in the positions of Club Secretary, Club Treasurer, Chairman and Child Welfare Officer will be standing down (or wishing to move to other roles) at the end of this season. If anyone wishes to apply for any of the above VOLUNTARY (UNPAID) positions, please contact Jacqui Groves (club secretary) detailing the position you wish to apply for no later than 30 April 2012. The Club AGM will be on Wednesday 30 May 2012. Please only apply if you have genuine time to spare and are willing to be fully committed.
14.11.11 - Jacqui Groves has informed us that at the end of this season she will be resigning as Club Secretary. Jacqui has been involved with the club for 14 years as a parent and as an Officer of the club. Jacqui says that the club has been a huge part of hers and her family's life over the years, but she feels it is time to let someone with fresh ideas and more time take this voluntary role on now. If anyone is interested in taking the role on, which will take approximately 10 hours per week on average (including Sundays) plus the ability to attend some evening weekday meetings anywhere in Dorset, then please contact Jacqui Groves or the Chairman Paul Whitty. Jacqui is happy to discuss this voluntary role job description with anyone interested.

12.11.11 - The FA Youth Module Level 1 & 2 has been attended by John Groves for the club recently. This was covered and attended over 8 full days. Many thanks to John for giving up his time for the club.

10.10.2011 - Well done to Martin Rendell (U12 Girls manager and U13 coach) who has achieved his Level 2 Award in Coaching Football.
12.9.11:URGENT NOTICE: Due to an incident with one of our players that occurred yesterday at a match, please can all parents/carers ensure that the players of the club have essential prescribed medication with them at matches and training at all times. The medication should be clearly labelled with the players name and date of birth, and if wished handed in to the manager for safe keeping for the match/training duration only. Also please ensure that as a parent/carer responsible for the child you are contactable at all times via the number you have given for 'in an emergency' if you are not in attendance of the match/training. Your co-operation in this serious matter is appreciated and for your child's well-being.

Merley Cobham Sport FC provides football for players of ages Under 7s to Under 18s, Ladies, Mens Reserve Team (Dorset Saturday League, Div 1), Mens Dorset Premier League Team and veterans team (over 35). Our Club is a participant in the FA RESPECT Campaign. We also actively encourage players over 14 years of age to undertake courses such as Refereeing, and over 16 years of age Football Coaching and Sports Injury.
